If there was a year that lacked inspiration, 2020 was. Fortunately, we continue our long tradition of showcasing inspirational marketers who are also influential.
Over the past 10 years, we have honored hundreds of women marketers who have done a great job, created and shared content, and made a difference in the industry, including last year. 50 women CMOs who stand out in marketing.
In this 11th year of publication of the TopRank Blog List of Women Who Rock in Marketing, we have taken a more B2B approach. The vast majority of the winners of the 2020 edition on our list work for B2B brands or have a B2B marketing function within a B2C or B2B / B2C brand.
To find this impressive group of marketers, we leveraged our existing network developed over the past 10 years as well as the influencer marketing software platform Traackr to help identify people who identify as marketers. B2B marketing, create content about B2B marketing and interact with an audience. on B2B marketing topics. As always, basic social data points include timeliness, resonance with the network, and reach.
Although there are many more women in leadership positions in B2B marketing, as evidenced by the CMO research we conducted last year, being able to engage communities through social media and post content is what sets the people on this list apart.
Social engagement of leaders becomes a much higher priority for B2B brands, as companies invest more in building the influence of internal subject matter experts, key thought leaders and senior management. This is especially true with positions like the CMO where many clients expect to engage through social media.
