Ready to make your life easier?

What is the new Slack app, how it works and what it does

Process Street, for those who don’t know, is code-free workflow software that turns your daily business processes into actionable checklists and automated workflows. We’ve partnered with Slack to bring the Slack app to our users.

In a nutshell, the Slack app connects your Process Street account to Slack so you can communicate with your team, receive Process Street notifications, action tasks, complete checklists, and approve or reject items, all. from Slack.

How it works?

Once you’ve installed the Slack app (installation instructions are coming soon), you’ll start receiving Slack notifications every time:

  • Someone mentions you in a comment;
  • An approval task (to which you have been assigned) is ready for review;
  • Someone assigns you to a task or a checklist;
  • Your work is either approved or rejected;
  • A task that has been assigned to you is due.

Once you have received a notification, you will be able to open the corresponding task or checklist, view all the details (including text and subtasks), fill in the form fields, approve or reject documents and complete the task or checklist.

All. From. In. Soft.

Ok this is what the Process Street Slack app is, what it does and how it works … but the question is what does that mean for you?

How will you benefit from the Slack app?

I’ll be the first to admit that I usually work with about 20 different tabs, at least four new windows, and probably around three or four different open platforms, at a time.

This causes confusion, frustration, and considerable stress. Mostly if I’m against the clock, I’m working towards a tight deadline.

Go through tabs, sign in and sign out of different systems, and reopen the same tool three or four times (because I can’t remember which one damned tab in which it is already open) is unproductive, inefficient and chaotic.

But now with the launch of our new Slack app, with just a tool I can:

  • Communicate with the whole company ?
  • Get instant updates on progress ?
  • Request articles from the team ?
  • Review the work ?
  • Action tasks ?
  • Complete checklists ✨
  • Approve or reject items ✔️

It clears the clutter and allows me to work faster, giving me the time and space I need to focus on my key ROI tasks.

The Slack app in action

Let’s say you run the human resources department in a very active finance organization. You use Slack to communicate with your team and the company’s 500 employees. You use Process Street to manage all your recurring tasks and workflows, and you use countless other HR tools, apps, and platforms to help you in your role.

Because you are always in a meeting, in an interview or in discipline, you are rarely at your desk. So you count on a quick check-in with Slack between appointments, to keep you up to date.

But, when you are finally able to return to your desk and log into Process Street so you can tackle your to-do list, you are often overwhelmed by a barrage of exceptional actions and items that desperately need your attention.

Sally sent you thirteen contracts to be approved. Twelve people have mentioned you in several different onboarding checklists, and you have been assigned to Ten budget planning checklist tasks that everyone needs urgent action.

But you have another meeting in ten minutes!

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could tackle all of these things one shot, while checking Slack for updates, between meetings? Then when you come back to your desk, instead of going through a huge backlog of tasks, checklists, actions, and approvals, you can focus on more important work.

I think it’s time to install the Slack app, right?
